This Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on favtoo.com. The short version: Favtoo uses Google Analytics 4 for aggregate usage analytics, which sets a small number of first-party cookies on your browser. Favtoo displays no advertisements and does not load any third-party advertising network.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They are used to remember preferences and analyse site usage. Local storage is a related browser mechanism that holds key/value data on your device but, unlike cookies, is never automatically sent to any server with HTTP requests.
2. First-Party Cookies (Set on the favtoo.com Domain)
Favtoo uses Google Analytics 4 ("GA4") to understand which tools people find useful and to spot processing errors. The GA4 script is loaded from Google's servers, but the cookies it writes are set on the favtoo.com domain and therefore behave as first-party cookies in your browser.
| Cookie | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes one anonymous visitor from another. Stores a random identifier so repeat visits in the same browser are counted as the same user. Contains no personal data. | 2 years |
_ga_<container-id> | Stores session state so visit duration and engagement time can be measured. The container ID is the suffix of the GA4 Measurement ID configured for the site. | 2 years |
In addition to page views, the GA4 integration records anonymous events when you use a tool — for example, when a file is loaded into a tool, when processing starts, when it succeeds or fails, and when the result is downloaded. Each event includes the tool slug, category, the size of the file in bytes, and the processing duration. File names and file contents are never recorded, because the tool runs entirely in your browser and the analytics script has no access to the data being processed.
We also use Plausible Analytics for an additional, cookieless layer of page-view statistics. Plausible does not set any cookies and does not store IP addresses.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Favtoo does not display advertising and does not load any advertising network on the site. No third-party advertising cookies are set when you visit favtoo.com. If that changes in the future, this section will be updated and an in-site banner will inform visitors before any advertising cookies begin to be set.
4. Local Storage
Favtoo writes a very small amount of data to your browser's localStorage. This data lives only on your device and is never transmitted to any server.
| Key | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
cookie_consent | Records that you dismissed the "Got it" cookie notice so it does not reappear on every page load. The value is just a timestamp; no preference data is stored. | Until you clear your browser storage. |
favtoo:workflows:v1 | Stores the Workflow recipes you save in the Workflows page. The value is JSON describing the steps in each pipeline. No file data is ever written here. | Until you delete the workflow or clear browser storage. |
5. How to Manage Cookies
You can control cookies and storage through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
To clear localStorage for Favtoo, open your browser's developer tools (F12), go to the Application / Storage tab, and clear Local Storage for favtoo.com.
6. Do Not Track
Browsers send Do Not Track headers inconsistently and most analytics providers, including Google Analytics, do not honour them in a standardised way. If you want to prevent analytics and ad cookies from being set, the most reliable approach is to use a content blocker (uBlock Origin, etc.) or your browser's built-in tracking protection. Doing so will not break any tool on Favtoo, because the tools run locally in your browser and do not depend on analytics.
7. Changes to This Policy
This Cookie Policy may be updated as the site changes. The updated policy is published on this page with a new revision date. If you do not agree with the current version, please do not use the website.
