How to customize a color (without breaking it)

Colors, logos, sizes — what Color Picker lets you change, and what you should leave alone. Browser-based, free, no signup, runs entirely on your device.

Generating a color sounds like it should require an app — and historically it did. Color Picker runs the same thing in your browser tab, with one tap and no signup.

Run it in your browser: Color Picker — Runs entirely on your device using open web standards.

What you can customize in Color Picker

Color Picker exposes the options that matter without overwhelming you with the ones that don't:

  • Size — pick the smallest size that still scans reliably for your use case
  • Color — foreground and background. Keep contrast high; aesthetics shouldn't fight readability
  • Margin / "quiet zone" — the empty border around the color. Don't skip this; scanners need it
  • Logo overlay — embed a brand image in the middle. Works because of built-in redundancy in the encoding

What you shouldn't change

  • The error-correction level (raise it, don't lower it)
  • The encoding format (let Color Picker pick the best one for your input)
  • The aspect ratio (always square — non-square colors are unreadable)
